Assisted Living Community Sees the Light at the End of the Tunnel after Vaccinations
Monica Davis-Cruz, director of resident care, said most residents were excited to get the vaccine and saw it as a step to returning to normal. Davis-Cruz said she saw the vaccinations as a the light at the end of the tunnel. "It's been a long time coming," Davis-Cruz said, "It's was a really dark year last year and a little glimmer of hope a the end of the tunnel for us." Davis-Cruz said Vineyard Assisted Living was planning to host two more clinics for residents and staff.

Kalamazoo Reindeer Brings Christmas Cheer to Assisted Living Residents
Residents at Vineyard Assisted Living were in for an early Christmas surprise Tuesday, Dec. 15, as a local reindeer pranced through the halls during their holiday party. Percy, a four-year-old female reindeer from Kalamazoo’s Reindeer Ranch, visited the assisted living facility in Texas Township to bring some cheer to the 50 men and women who live there.

Kalamazoo Assisted Living Facility holds Family Drive-By Parade for Residents
With a Texas Township firetruck leading the way, family members paraded their decorated cars, held signs, and honked their horns as residents watched from the curb. Jami Dykstra, the life enrichment coordinator at Vineyard Assisted Living Community, said with family not being able to visit their loved ones due to COVID-19, they had to get creative.
