Foundations

Without a strong foundation, a building cannot stand. The construction crew has been hard at work pouring concrete to finish the foundation and the flooring for The Villas expansion. Looking out on the project this morning, I had some time to reflect on how important laying a solid foundation is, not only for building a structure, but for living your life.

The Ganton family started out in senior living in the 1950s. Mervin and Mary Ganton saw a need for senior support, and based on their faith, opened their own home to two elderly gentlemen. Through this act of kindness, the Gantons found their calling to be servants to seniors. The company grew from these humble Christian beginnings, and has continued to serve seniors in southwestern Michigan for over 60 years.

Continuing to have a family focus, Scott Ganton is a third generation owner. Just as his grandparents started out decades ago, he still holds onto those Christian principles and strives to keep faith and family at the center of his communities.

While a structural foundation is just some concrete poured into the ground, a strong moral and spiritual foundation will withstand decades. While hardships and trials will come, a strong foundation will withstand the elements. This is evident with the love one feels entering Vineyard Assisted Living.

24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

Matthew 7:24-25
